In March 2014, we watched our friend Louise Smith perform in our neck of the woods in Kilburn. That night we saw a bunch of performances but one that stuck out the most was that of Richard De Soussa.
Richard, a Brazilian born, London-living singer/songwriter performs with a distinct style which draws on his Brazilian roots but stays true to the 'new-generation' of British artists pioneered by Ed Sheeran. We had a brief chat after the show and mentioned the channel and after a few months of back and fourth with a former representative of his, something was agreed but only to fall through. One year later, we were very happy to welcome Richard onto the channel.
Dressed very casually, a calm and composed Richard walked in open to conversation and a friendly introduction, we started with a brief chat about his set in Kilburn in 2014 and told him it was great to finally shoot something with him. Richard sat down, set up his guitar and with no instrumentalist, no backing vocals he got straight to it.
